Eric P. Chenoweth is a trial lawyer who represents businesses and institutional clients in high-stakes commercial litigation, complex arbitration, intellectual property disputes, and class actions. He serves as lead counsel in business disputes involving fiduciary duty, breach of contract, fraud, business torts, patent and trade secret claims.
Eric represents clients in state and federal courts and in arbitration proceedings across the country. His practice spans a broad range of industries, including technology, real estate, energy, financial services, and industrial businesses. He handles matters throughout the litigation process, from pre-suit strategy and dispositive motions through trial, arbitration and appeal.
Eric currently leads Ajamie LLP’s representation of Colony Ridge Development in a class action under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, where he guided the matter through extensive litigation to a class-wide settlement. He also plays a key role in the firm’s representation of BCS Consulting in complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation involving valuable intellectual property rights, estate proceedings, alleged fraudulent transfers, and cross-border enforcement issues. In other significant litigation, Eric represents an attorney and his law firm in a dispute involving fiduciary duties, fraud, breach of contract, and substantial international business interests.
A registered patent attorney, Eric has substantial experience in patent, trade secret, and technology litigation. He has served as lead and co-lead counsel in disputes involving patent infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, oilfield technology, and other valuable intellectual property. His experience includes successful jury trials as well as significant results obtained through dispositive motions.
Eric has handled commercial disputes involving hundreds of millions of dollars and has achieved significant results for clients at trial and throughout the litigation process. His experience includes matters involving major domestic and international companies, complex technology and intellectual property rights, energy and infrastructure projects, and substantial contractual disputes.

- Successfully represented Shopify Inc. and its affiliates in obtaining dismissal of a commercial lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas at the pleading stage, enforcing a mandatory forum-selection clause requiring the dispute to proceed in Ontario, Canada.
- Served as co-lead trial counsel for a patent owner in infringement litigation resulting in a favorable jury verdict awarding the client its full lost profits and finding willful infringement.
- Served as co-lead counsel for the owner of patents and trade secrets in litigation seeking more than $50 million arising from the alleged infringement and misappropriation of oilfield technology.
- Served as co-lead trial counsel for a lender and insured interest holder in contract litigation resulting in a $32.5 million jury verdict.
- Represented a purchaser of petrochemical products in a $500 million commercial dispute with a Mexican national oil company, obtaining take-nothing summary judgment on all claims.
- Served as co-lead trial counsel for an engineering and construction contractor in a $25 million contract dispute arising from a $100 million pipeline upgrade project.
