May 2019 // Ajamie LLP

May 9, 2019 Houston TX:  On May 8th, the Houston Bar Association honored Ajamie LLP’s Ryan van Steenis with its Pro Bono Star award for his outstanding pro bono work on behalf of Unlikely Heroes, a  privately funded, nonprofit that exists to rescue, restore and rehabilitate child victims of sex slavery.  Van Steenis received the award at a ceremony hosted by the Houston Bar Association at the Harris County Civil Courthouse on May 8.

Sponsored by the Harris County judiciary in conjunction with the Houston Bar Association, the Bench Bar Pro Bono Awards program was established to recognize outstanding pro bono service through local legal service providers and to encourage the provision of direct legal services to low-income Harris County residents. Each year a committee of judges and attorneys selects the recipients in various categories.
